The Grammys Left Vinnie Paul Out of Their In Memoriam Tribute

February 11, 2019

The loss of Pantera/Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul left a gaping hole in the hearts of the rock and metal community. Especially since there was nobody else that loved life and treated others to the same level that he did. So it stung particularly hard during the 61st annual Grammy awards that his name was left out of the In Memoriam tribute segment, and fans took notice.

Although the Grammys did have Vinnie Paul listed under artists that passed away in the last year on their website, this isn't the first time that the awards have build a track record of snubbing late rock artists that deserved a moment of recognition, like Slayer's Jeff Hanneman, Paul Gray of Slipknot, and Peter Steele of Type O Negative.
