There has been an outpouring of tributes from fans and artists alike following the recent news of the death of The Cars frontman and founder Ric Ocasek. During their concert in Bethlehem, PA, The Killers honored the memory of the new wave legend by covering their hit song "My Best Friend's Girl" live.

The Cars proved to play a very important role in the life of The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers. Flowers had the pleasure of not only inducting The Cars into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he also was able to send Ocasek an email detailing how much The Cars' music meant to him growing up and pursuing a career in music, saying, "It set me on the path towards the adult I would be become, towards the job I have (which is the best job in the world), even towards the woman I was blessed to marry. So.... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU."
