Ken Casey Gets In Bloody Altercation with Drunk Audience Member

March 17, 2019

St. Patrick's Day weekend is one of the biggest weekends for the Dropkick Murphys. With four shows scheduled in Boston, that is four chances for an incredible concert experience.

However, since it is St. Patrick's Day in Boston, there is destined to be a few moments where some people decide to take things a little too far.

During their show at the House of Blues Boston on March 15th, bassist Ken Casey noticed that there was an over-served audience member near the stage throwing elbows at nearby people. After stopping the show and calling security, Casey decided to help break up the fight himself. According to TMZ, Casey was hit in the head with a beer can. Video shows Casey's face covered in blood as he goes after the drunk concertgoer causing all of the trouble.

After things simmer down, vocalist Al Barr addresses the crowd, saying, "We've been doing this for a number of years, and having been here for 21 of those years, I can tell you this is not new. When we invite you guys to come to one of our shows, it's like we’re saying come to our house. And when someone disrespects us, you're disrespecting us in our house."
