Johnny Depp Covers David Bowie's "Heroes" with the Hollywood Vampires

June 7, 2019

In 2018, the all-star supergroup Hollywood Vampires, which is helmed by Alice Cooper, Joe Perry of Aerosmith, and actor Johnny Depp, hunkered down in Hansa Studios in Berlin, Germany to lay down a cover of one of David Bowie's greatest hit songs, "Heroes." What made this location so special was that it was the same studio where Bowie had recorded that very song more than 40 years ago.

In the video, Depp takes over as the lead singer, with Cooper and Perry providing backing vocals. Check out their cover below:

Although the Hollywood Vampires originally started as a covers band, in honor of Cooper's "dead drunk friends", they have since begun to release their own collection of originals like "The Boogeyman" and "Who's Laughing Now" in their upcoming album Rise, which will be released on June 21st, 2019.
