Ivan Moody Is Doing Yoga To Maintain His Sobriety

May 30, 2019

Five Finger Death Punch frontman Ivan Moody has been staying strong after completing his first full year of sobriety in March 2019. During a behind-the-scenes clip of the band in the studio, recording their follow-up album to And Justice For None, Moody reveals that on top of getting a fiery-hot phoenix tattoo on his face, Moody confirms that he has also been implementing yoga into his regimen.

"Shooting guns, hitting golf balls, all of that stuff only goes so far," says Moody. "So now it's more of a physical thing. So I'm back to my regimen of working out every day, but because of my good friend, (5FDP guitarist) Jason Hook, I have implemented yoga."

During his appearance on The Jasta Show, a podcast hosted by Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta, Moody adds that he has received support from Rob Halford of Judas Priest and Jonathan Davis of Korn on keeping up with his sobriety.

"And when I went through recovery, and even my bandmates and I weren't talking, Halford was on the phone with me," says Moody. "I got two 10-minute phone calls a day, and Halford was one of them every single day. No matter where he was in the world, he picked up, he left me messages, he sent me cards."
