Get A Behind-The-Scenes Look of Johnny Flynn in the David Bowie Biopic "Stardust"

August 20, 2019

Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody first set the bar high for rock star biopics in 2018. Then Elton John's "real life fantasy" was told through the 2019 biopic Rocketman. Now the next UK rock icon to receive the biopic treatment will be David Bowie in Stardust.

Starring Johnny Flynn (Clouds of Sils Maria, Beast, Crusade in Jeans, Genius), Stardust will follow the life and career of a young David Bowie's first visit to the US in 1971, which lead to the creation of his legendary alter ego Ziggy Stardust.

The film will be directed by Gabriel Range (Death of a President, I Am A Slave, The Great Dome Robbery) and will feature Marc Maron and Jena Malone.

Stardust producer Paul Van Carter shared a still of Flynn as Bowie on set of the film.

According to Bowie's son, Duncan Jones, Stardust is not authorized by his father's estate, and it has not received any permission to use authorized music in its final cut.

The film is currently in production and no release date has been announced.
