Former U.S. President George H. W. Bush Dies At 94

George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States, has passed away at the age of 94 years old.

He was elected president on November 8th, 1988 and was sworn in on January 20th, 1989. Bush completed his presidency on January 20th, 1993.

In a statement released by his son and former President George W. Bush, "Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died. George H.W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41's life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens."

Bush's death follows only months of the passing of his wife Barbara Pierce Bush, who were married for 73 years.
