The life of former Boston Bruin center Derek Sanderson is about to get the biopic treatment.

Sanderson was a rising star on the Bruins, earning himself "Rookie of the Year" during the 1967-68 season and assisting the 1970 Stanley Cup-winning goal by Bobby Orr. However, Sanderson's life fell downward after addiction to drugs and alcohol took over his life to the point where he was left broke and homeless, sleeping on park benches. He was able to get himself cleaned up and sober by the mid-1980's.

Titled "Turk," the film's script has been written by Casey Sherman, who is known for writing books like The Finest Hours and Patriots Day. He is also set to produce through his writing collaborator and Black Mass co-producer Michael Bassick.
