Dave Grohl to Guest on 'Ryan's Mystery Playdate' on Nickelodeon

October 30, 2019

Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl is the kind of musician whose fanbase covers everyone from the toughest metalheads to little kids entering kindergarten. In a preview to the Nick Jr. program Ryan's Mystery Playdate, Grohl is confirmed to be a future guest on the show where he will be getting into musical hijinks with the show's 7-year-old host Ryan Kaji, along with some other kids, including one who is presumed to be Grohl's youngest daughter Ophelia.

"My daughter has been watching the show constantly, so it's like meeting a real rockstar," Grohl says in the preview. "I'm not the rockstar here, Ryan is."

"It's important for every kid to learn about music and learn to play an instrument. But the best part is when you get together with your friends and play a song. That's the best thing."

According the episode's description, which is scheduled air on October 31st at 11:30am EST, "Ryan rocks and shreds through challenges before going for the record with his legendary playdate. Ryan must shine a light on some challenges before putting on a charaded performance with his mystery playdate."

This won't be the first time Grohl has been a guest on a childrens' show. In 2011, Grohl appeared in a live show of Yo Gabba Gabba where he helped perform the "Peanut Butter Stomp" dance.
