Cream Drummer Ginger Baker is 'Critically Ill'

The family of Cream drummer Ginger Baker announced that he is "critically ill" and has been admitted into the hospital.

"Please keep him in your prayers tonight," the family wrote on Baker's official Twitter account.

Baker, now 80-years-old, has been through a number of health issues in the last few years.  He underwent open heart surgery in 2016, which forced him to cancel a handful of tour dates. He then experienced a fall during his recovery that left him with swollen legs in feet. In 2013 Baker was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and is rumored to be suffering with chronic back pain resulting from degenerative osteoarthritis.

Baker, who turned 80 in August, has experienced a number of health issues in recent years. In 2016, he underwent open heart surgery, which forced him to cancel a run of tour dates. During recovery, a fall also left him with swollen legs and feet. In 2013, he was diagnosed with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), and he is also said to be suffering from chronic back pain as a result of degenerative osteoarthritis.
