'Bohemian Rhapsody' Is The Box Office Champion With $51 Million Opening

November 5, 2018

As one of the most anticipated films of 2018, Bohemian Rhapsody had a stellar opening weekend earning over $51M at the box office.

As of now, the film is the second-highest grossing musical biopic behind Straight Outta Compton, which raked in $60.2M opening weekend in August 2015 and $161.1M overall in the US.

With a PG-13 rating, the film has received some criticism for not including all of the darker sides to Freddie Mercury's history. But neither Fox nor the surviving members of Queen have any complaints for the final product, and neither have audiences which have given it a score of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.
