"Bill & Ted 3" To Begin Filming In January 2019

June 4, 2018

A third "Bill and Ted" movie is really happening? Excellent! (air guitars).

According to Omega Underground, "Bill and Ted Face The Music" will begin filming on January 10th, 2019 with Dean Parisot (Justified, RED 2, Fun with Dick and Jane, Galaxy Quest) as the film's director.

The third Bill and Ted film will take place in the year 2019, 30 years since the original film Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), where both William "Bill" S. Prestion Esq. (Alex Winter) and "Ted" Theodore Logan (Keanu Reeves) were destined to save the world through the music of their band Wyld Stallyns. But there's one problem: they haven't done that yet.

While appearing on the Graham Norton Show, Reeves reveals some more of the third film's plot and how there is much more than just the world at stake.

"Basically they were supposed to write a song that saves the world, and they haven't done that," says Reeves. "So the pressure of having to save the world, their marriages are falling apart, their kids are kind of mad at them. But then someone from the future and tells them if they don't write the song, [suddenly] it's not the world, now it's the universe. So they have to save the UNIVERSE because time is breaking apart."

No release date for Bill and Ted Face The Music has been announced.
