Alice In Chains Eyeing Summer 2018 For New Album's Release

April 12, 2018

They mentioned in 2017 that Alice In Chains would be working on a new album, though they've managed to keep things very hush-hush for the last few months. Now according to an interview with guitarist Jerry Cantrell, the band is hoping their new album will be out by Summer 2018.

Although they were very close to being 100% complete, Cantrell and his bandmates have been continuously putting down the finishing touches. The unnamed album was recorded in Seattle, making it the first time Alice In Chains have recorded back in their stomping grounds since their self-titled album, Alice In Chains in 1995. Then they would move around to record in Nashville with producer Nick Raskulinecz and then finishing up at Henson Studios in Los Angeles before sending their recordings to "Evil" Joe Barresi for the mixing process.

Although he doesn't want to give away any spoilers about the album, Cantrell says that it is unlike any other album they've ever done.

Alice In Chains has also mapped out their 2018 tour, starting stateside at the House of Blues in Boston on April 28th through mid-May, and then hitting the European tour on June 16th in Leeds, UK and ending July 18th in Tel Aviv, Israel. They will then start the second leg of their North American tour in late-August and continue into mid-September.
