Alice Cooper Describes Gene Wilder As 'Irreplaceable' And 'An American Treasure'

Though he was not be a literal rock star, in the comedy world he was definitely respected as one. Gene Wilder was one of the greatest comedic minds to emerge on the silver screen, with films like Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, Young FrankensteinBlazing Saddles, and See No Evil, Hear No Evil. After experiencing complications from Alzheimer's, the actor died on August 29th, 2016.

He also had his own sitcom on television called "Something Wilder" in which Alice Cooper made a special appearance in an episode that can be viewed below.

Alice Cooper posted a photo of himself and Wilder on his Facebook page, honoring the late actor. "I count on working with Gene Wilder on his TV sitcom 'Something Wilder' to be one of the most previous memories of my entire career. Doing 'one on one' comedy with Gene was like jamming with The Beatles. It doesn't get any better. Gene Wilder is IRREPLACEABLE and will always be an American Treasure."
