Today (September 8th, 2016) the legendary space-age television series "Star Trek" is celebrating 50 years of exploring the galaxy! As one of the most influential shows to invade our homes, hundreds of famous faces have made guest appearances on the inter-galactic drama. Among those faces (makeup or not) include some of the biggest names in rock! Check out these clips of some of your favorite rockers that you may (or may not) recognize!

Mick Fleetwood

Under the guise of lots of makeup and prosthetics, the Fleetwood Mac drummer appeared as an Antedean dignitary in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Manhunt." Fleetwood even shaved off his famous beard in order to play the role as the fishy alien that whose plan was to bomb a summit meeting that the USS Enterprise was taking him to.

Iggy Pop

Iggy Pop, who has had a number of acting roles in films like Snow Day, The Rugrats Movie, Tank Girl and Shartopus vs. Whalewolf made his Star Trek debut as "Yelgrun," who was sent to a group of Ferengi to negotiate the return of Ishka, paramour of Grand Nagus Zek. In exchange they would receive Keevan, a captured Vorta being held by Starfleet for many months. Although Yelgrun did wear a friendly, good-natured persona, he was just as casual when making threats.

Tom Morello

The Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitarist appeared in twice on Star Trek. The first time as a Son'a officer in Star Trek: Insurrection. The second as Mitchell, a junction crewman in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Good Shepherd."

*BONUS* Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Okay, technically he's not a rocker in the same sense as Fleetwood, Pop, and Morello. But Hollywood's highest-paid actor certainly did rock one of his early roles as a Tsunkatse gladiator known as "The Pentair Champion" who famously fought and defeated Seven of Nine in her first match.
