The death of a child can bring even the baddest of rockers to their knees. Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil lived the horror first-hand when his daughter, Skylar, endured a grueling battle with cancer before succumbing to the disease in 1995.

Nearly 25 years later, Neil is remembering the time he shared with his daughter. He posted an old family photo on Instagram with the simple caption: “miss you” followed by a halo emoji. Skylar, decked out in peace signs, is seen sitting on a proud Vince’s shoulders in the professional shot.

Following Skylar’s death, Neil established the Skylar Neil Foundation to raise awareness and fund research, and it has raised more than $2 million to combat childhood cancer.

Mötley Crüe had released their third studio album, Theatre of Pain, a few months before Skylar’s death and were four years away from their crowning achievement - 1989’s Dr. Feelgood. The album topped the Billboard 200 on the strength of the title track, the high-octane “Kickstart My Heart” and the power ballad “Without You.”

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Dr. Feelgood, the band has unveiled a limited edition reissue. The deluxe edition includes colored vinyl, picture discs, playing cards, a prescription notepad, drumstick pens, pins, guitar picks and more.
