Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee ready to leave if Trump reelected: 'I swear to God'

A Mediterranean island could be in the drummer's future if the incumbent wins

Tommy Lee is drumming up controversy after voicing his intentions to leave the United States if President Donald Trump is re-elected in November.

The Mötley Crüe drummer tells The Big Issue magazine he plans to “go back to Greece and get a house on one of those islands,” if Trump secures a second term as President. The 58-year-old was born in the Mediterranean islands and could bypass any immigration stall.

Lee says his opposition to the Republican incumbent stems from what he perceives to be America’s loss of prominence on the world stage. “The thing that stings the most is that I feel like we’re embarrassing," he told the publication.

"I feel like people in Europe and the rest of the world look at America and think: ‘What the f*** are you guys doing over there? Stop voting for celebrities and get someone real to run the country.'”

This isn’t the first time Tommy has been critical of President Trump. The Mötley Crüe drummer retweeted a letter written by Craig Alan Wilkins.
His colorful language lets you know which side of the political isle both men lean.

He also invoked the call of karma when news broke that the President and First Lady had contracted the coronavirus, earlier this month. Lee tweeted “Can you say ‘Karma Gods have spoken’?”

Tommy’s political activism is a healthy way to deal with the stress of this tumultuous year. He could be drinking two gallons of vodka a day. Well, to be fair, he was drinking two gallons of vodka a day till his wife Brittany Furlan convinced the musician to slow down. "What's important is I realized, 'Whoa, dude, you're drinking enough to like, you could probably die.' And it wasn't even phasing me," Lee told Yahoo! Entertainment's Lyndsey Parker.

"I just became immune to it, and realized, 'Whoa, this is a lot! This isn't good.' So it was time for me to pump the breaks and just get rid of it for a while."
