Metallica announces special livestream acoustic concert to benefit charity

Taking place Saturday, November 14

October 13, 2020

In 2018, Metallica hosted the inaugural Helping Hands Concert & Auction benefiting the band’s All Within My Hands non-profit. Now, the concert is ready to return.

Unlike the first iteration of the charity concert, Metallica will be holding the 2020 version as a pay-per-view livestream event. The virtual show takes place on Saturday, November 14 at 5 PM ET/2 PM PT and will stream on nugs.tv.

The concert is unlike any other Metallica concert as it sees the band go all-acoustic for this special show. Proceeds from the show will benefit the All Within My Hands foundation.

Metallica’s All Within My Hands non-profit foundation was established back in 2017 as a way for Metallica and their fans to give back to communities that have supported the band. This year, the foundation has donated $645,000 to COVID-19 relief funds that include Feeding America, Direct Relief, and charities assisting those in the entertainment and hospitality industries that are out of work.

On top of the concert, the event will also feature an auction where fans can bid on various items and experiences. Details regarding the auction will be made available closer to the date of the event.

The acoustic benefit concert marks Metallica’s second show of 2020 as the band performed a drive-in concert back in August that was shown in drive-in theaters across America.

Metallica rehearsed and shot a set that was made specifically for the drive-in experience.

Appropriately dubbed “Pandemica,” the 16-song concert saw a bevy of Metallica hits including “Seek & Destroy,” “One,” “Wherever I May Roam,” “Master of Puppets,” and “Enter Sandman.”
