'My crew is suffering, the future is unknown'

Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale is riding out the coronavirus like the rest of us, and she's been speaking out on what she sees as dangerous decision-making when it comes to reopening entire states and local communities.

In not just one, but two posts on Instagram, she explains.

"I get why everyone is excited about some states reopening right now. In my opinion, without a vaccine, this is like opening up a designated section of a public pool for p***ing. But ya know... you do you."

Lzzy then went on to give a grim outlook for some of your favorite bands, post-pandemic, and laid into some commenters regarding her '"celebrity" status.

"I’m continuing to self quarantine, write an album and do my thing. But what I need to address tonight is the audacity of some people to assume that just because I’m someone of note, that I am not suffering because of all this. I spend most of my time, 90% of it, on tour, which is NOT a reality right now. My crew is suffering, the future is unknown, and most of the bands you know and love won’t make it out of this."

It's become a truth hurts moment for many artists as they struggle to find their place as public performers, not to mention the many event workers, security guards, and touring crews who are in the same exact boat.

"So if you are able, please be smart. Don’t go out unless it’s necessary, and if you gotta, do curb side, wear a mask, wash/sanitize your hands. And let’s band together to end this s***! Click the link in my bio to help all the road crews without whom the rock show would not go on!"

In the meantime, Lzzy will continue making the most of her time social distancing at home, practicing ways to be healthy, productive, and of course, rocking out. Watch here as she shares a few quarantine tips, all part of our “Home Schooled” series, with artists sharing lessons from their own home.
